It’s time for Singaporean music aficionados to be mesmerised by the dulcet tones of Datuk Sharifah Aini as she returns after 10 years to croon at Konsert Malam Seri Dewi to be held at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Nov 8.   At the 8,000-capacity stadium, fans can look forward to be serenaded with almost 40 of more than 1,000 songs recorded over a career that spans a grand 40 years.

Still in the process of selecting the night’s repertoire, the veteran singer emphasised that one must-sing number would be the all-time favourite, Bunga Tanjung But here’s a simple reminder to all Sharifah Aini fans in the Lion City: "You can post your own suggestions and make requests via her online fan club.  It is impossible for me to sing all my hits but I will try and fulfil my fans’ demands," she said.

Knowing that the majority of her fans comes from different age brackets, she will also sing the latest hit songs to please youngsters who attend the concert.  "People are often of the opinion that a singer who has been in the industry for so long would not be open to singing the latest songs," she said.  "I, however, always follow the current flavour."

Sharifah will also be singing Arabic songs for her Singaporean fans.

Backed by six singers and a new line-up of musicians, the three-hour concert will also see a duet with Singapore Idol winners Taufik Batisah and Hady Mirza.

Sharifah, who may be retiring soon, is also planning for 'a big concert' to share priceless experiences as a singer with her fans.
