OLDER
(Standard
Edition)
–
George Michael
Older is the third studio album by English singer-songwriter George Michael, it was Michael's first studio album since 1990's Listen Without Prejudice vol 1 - the five-and-a-half-year gap was due to the legal battle that Michael experienced with his former record company Sony Music. Michael dedicated three years to the recording of Older, and the album found him exploring new musical territories in a more serious fashion compared to his previous work. At the time of release, the album was a huge commercial hit, particularly in Europe, but was received in America with lukewarm commercial approval. In the UK, the album was particularly notable for producing a record six top three hit singles in a two-year span. Older found Michael experimenting with new musical styles and expanding his artistic horizons. Particularly notable was the jazz flavour of the album's sound. The album was supported by six singles; 'Jesus To A Child', 'Fastlove', 'Spinning The Wheel', 'Older', 'Star People '97' (re-recorded version) and 'You Have Been Loved'. |

The song never appeared on any of Michael's studio album, although later it was included on his first solo collection, LADIES & GENTLEMEN: THE BEST OF GEORGE MICHAEL (1998). |

LISTEN
WITHOUT PREJUDICE vol 1
–
George Michael
Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1 is the second solo studio album by the English singer-songwriter George Michael. Listen Without Prejudice Vol 1 was a stark departure from Michael's previous album, 1987's Faith, with largely acoustic instrumentation and a sombre intensity in many of the lyrics and melodies. While the album topped the UK Albums Chart, disappointing sales in the United States led to Michael's legal battles against Sony Music, in which he accused the corporation of not fully supporting him as an artist. |

FAITH
–
George Michael
Faith is the debut solo studio album by the English singer George Michael. In addition to playing various instruments on the album, Michael wrote and produced every track on the recording except for one, 'Look At Your Hands', which he co-wrote with David Austin. A 'black' inspired pop-R&B album, Faith's songs include introspective lyrics, which generated controversies about Michael's personal relationships at that time. Faith peaked at number one on the UK Albums Chart and US Billboard 200. It was also the first album by a white solo artist to hit number one on the Billboard Top Black Albums chart. Faith spawned four number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100: 'Faith', 'Father Figure', 'One More Try', and 'Monkey', making Michael the only British male solo artist to have four number one hits from one album on the Billboard Hot 100. Faith is one of the best-selling albums of all time having sold over 25 million copies worldwide. The album won several awards, including Album Of The Year at the 31st Grammy Awards. Michael won three awards at the 1989 American Music Awards: 'Favorite Pop/Rock Male Artist', 'Favorite Soul/R&B Male Artist' and 'Favorite Soul/R&B Album'. |

MUSIC FROM THE EDGE OF HEAVEN
–
Wham!
Music from the Edge of Heaven is the final studio album from British pop duo Wham!. It was released on July 1, 1986. Music from the Edge of Heaven was only released in North America and Japan. In other countries, an album called The Final was released. Both albums share some of the same songs. Music from the Edge of Heaven generally acted as a studio album from Wham! for the North American and Japanese markets. It consisted of some songs not available on The Final as well. The Final was a greatest hits album as it included a few of the same songs, but also included many of their previous hits from their two prior albums. 'The Edge Of Heaven', 'Battlestations', 'Wham! Rap '86' and 'Where Did Your Heart Go', according to the liner notes, are newly recorded for the album, with 'The Edge Of Heaven', 'Battlestations' and 'Where Did Your Heart Go' also appearing on The Final; the other half was slightly changed for the collection, with the exception of the Pudding mix of 'Last Christmas'. The version of 'A Different Corner' featured has an intro that does not appear elsewhere. The version of 'I'm Your Man' is slightly edited down from the Stimulation mix and features a newly-recorded spoken bridge. |

MAKE IT BIG
–
Wham!
Make It Big is the second and final studio album from British pop duo Wham!. The album was a commercial success, hitting number one in both the US and the UK and spawning four singles; 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go', 'Careless Whisper' and 'Freedom'. All reaching the top three in the US and the UK; and ended up being in the 20 biggest selling singles of '84. The second single 'Careless Whisper' is technically a Wham! song as it appears on the Wham! album Make It Big. However, when released as a single, it was credited either to Wham! featuring George Michael (in North America and several other countries) or solely to George Michael (in the United Kingdom and some European countries) as it became apparent, that at some point in the near future, Michael would be embarking on a solo career. The moody 'Everything She Wants' is another hit. Their first album Fantastic was a hit in the UK but failed to make an impact in the US. |
